Minnesota Border Lakes 1986 - 28 Days
Jay-Paul Thibault went on his first Outward Bound course at the age of 17 in 1986. This first trip included 260-plus miles of canoeing throughout the Border Lakes in northern Minnesota, cliff climbing on Lake Michigan, a ropes course in Duluth, and a three-day solo on one of the islands in the Border Lakes.
This course was so critical to Jay-Paul because it taught him some of the basics of teamwork and communication skills that he soon realized would be necessary in the business world.

Hurricane Island, Maine 1987 - 28 Days
Jay-Paul Thibault went on his second Outward Bound course in 1987. This trip included 20 days sailing off the coast of Maine, a community project building a playground in Rockport, spending three days solo on a small island (300' diameter) off the island of Vinalhaven, a ropes course, and other leadership and teamwork programs.
Recently there have been news reports on the larger corporations sending their executives and salespeople on these adventures to improve their communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
